Heath Shuler is the Democratic incumbent to the US Congress from Western North Carolina,District 11. This is a personal site.I am what I consider a hard core Democrat.My representative to Congress has voted against a lot of President Obama's agenda.A agenda for change that America and North Carolina voted for.This area has a lot of 'conservative' areas with a lot of 'progressive' areas and I feel Heath is just trying to get re-elected.He voted against Health Care Reform and against the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes act just to mention a few. A republican in disguise and it's time this area says NO to Heath Shuler!
Early voting in the primary in this area begins on Thursday,April 15, 2010 and ends on Saturday,May,1,2010.
The general election is Nov 2,2010 No info on early voting in general election.
Now on the ballot in the Democratic primary is Heath Shuler and Aixa Wilson. I will be voting for Aixa.He has said he would have voted for the Health Care bill with disagreements.This,I think we all had.Also that he would have voted for the Matthew Shepard act and further stated he does "not accept bigotry or intolerance.I am sad that Rep Shuler voted nay on the bill."
There are some efforts now to put on the ballot a third party in the general election.I support these efforts if Aixa Wilson does not win the primary.I am disappointed that there is not a independent candidate or a Libertarian candidate.This area is wide open to such with Heath Shuler's sad representation of this area.
